/about me

Graduated Minnesota State University in Moorhead in 2012

Bachelor of Science in Art Education, summa cum laude

Minor in Studio Art

After graduating college in my hometown, I moved down to the Twin Cities and have absolutely fallen in love with the community feel and arts involvement in the metro area. I currently teach art in for Robbinsdale Public Schools.

While in school I studied a variety of media in order to bring a lot of avenues of art to the students, including painting, drawing, printmaking, ceramics, art history, sculpture, and even some unusual paths like theater/film make-up and various crafts. I took some life drawing classes and used people as models in real life; if I'm intently observing you, I'm probably going to draw you. I think simple things in everyday life can be made extraordinary by appreciating details and subtleties in our surroundings, elevating our human experience.

My personal goal of making a mark in the art world - bringing crayons into the spotlight as a highly respected art medium. Check out some of my work in the gallery to see how the process is going!
